Room quality varies a bit, but most are clean and comfortable.
Our Review
The Paragon never fails to impress newly arrived guests with the imposing Victorian Gothic architecture of its exterior. It also wins consistent praise for its comfortable rooms and attentive staff.
Built in 1903 by Lord Rowton, the Paragon Hotel is a Grade II listed property and a magnificent example of Victorian Gothic architecture. Many aspects of this building have been lovingly restored and it has extensive facilities for functions such as weddings and private dining. The spacious lobby is in good decorative order, with a compact seating area. The 250 guestrooms feature simple, light wood furniture and have a traditional feel that is in keeping with the hotels' period architecture. All are decently maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms. The hotel’s dining venue, the Princess Helena Restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers internationally flavoured menus in a relaxed, informal setting.
